Our experience shows clearly that an important factor in ensuring success in the AGPT program is that registrars are not separated from their family. Accordingly, all our policies are designed to encourage you to make your home within the region while you are living and working there during your training.
Regionally based registrars have priority in selecting and securing employment in their choice of training posts and also receive a number of subsidies to help them move their families and to make their homes in the region.
They also have the opportunity to minimise the dislocation that might arise from their six months experience in Zone 2.
We have training posts in large regional cities which have a diverse choice of education facilities including university and higher education campuses, access to modern shops and a variety of sports facilities while also offering your partner possible employment opportunities.
Our smaller towns offer a more relaxed but more intimate lifestyle with access to activities such as bushwalking, horse riding, sailing and other rural pursuits. Locating your family in one of these smaller locations could enable you to minimise dislocation to family life while maximising benefits for which you might be eligible.
